NQC Wednesday Recap
If there is one part of the National Quartet Convention that has deep meaning to both artist and fan alike, it is the chapel services. Wednesday morning, MTQ was honored to bring the music portion to the chapel service and enjoy a great word from Pastor Dean Haun (First Baptist Church / Morristown, Tennessee.) During the time we had, Trevor shared an arrangement from his new Hymns From The Heart project and we closed the morning with a special request, “It’s Almost Over.”
Just after lunch, MTQ and a few other quartets were back at the LeConte Center for the Quartet Matinee. This year, MTQ did something we have never done before. Mark made a last minute decision to perform the whole set with just Trevor playing piano and Mark accompanying with the bass guitar. Because of that we did songs like “Sheltered In The Arms of God,” “Masterbuilder,” “I’ll Have A New Body” and more.
The morning and afternoon were our only performances on Wednesday but that evening we had a radio interview with Absolutely Gospel Music. Mark, Trevor and Nick took part in this segment and we had a great time with the folks there.
